Saving Animals & Finding Homes
History
Rescuing animals dates back centuries and some countries have had a journey to become a place where animals can find a loving home and be part of the family. We are a part of that tradition and are here for the long term. To make an effort that is sustainable, ethical and also progressive so that we are always moving forward in our attitudes and in the practical conditions in which dogs live. It means being patient, kind and humble enough to change as time passes. The dogs deserve no less.
What Drives Us
Our Mission
To ensure that all dogs, no matter their age, health, background are valued and find loving homes where they can live as part of the family, part of the community. That dogs from the moment of their rescue are able to live in decent conditions where they have room to run and play, to have love, connection and kindness from the people that are responsable for them and that their needs are met for companionship, safety, enjoyment and everyday life and that they quickly move to families that can meet those needs.
Save a Life
Why Adopt?
JOY AND THE EMOTIONAL CONNECTION OF A FAMILY MEMBER
Nearly everyone that has adopted a rescue has known the emotional connection and fulfillment of a caring loving soul that is usually overjoyed to see you. Dogs are give love without measure. Usually they just want to be with you. We are confident if you have someone in your friendship circle, anyone, they will confirm this. It is true throughout the world.
IN IT FOR LOVE, NOT MONEY
Usually rescues (not just ours) work long hours for minimal financial rewards, they have deep and abiding love for the dogs they find adoption for. We are not part of an industry that sells pets for profit – they care – and that means they are more able to consider the family and the dog and think about how best to meet the needs of both. We have been inspired by many some of the people we have met that have given their life to rescue dogs and find them loving homes. Many adopters have become lifelong friends in the rescue community – that reflects that dealing with good people that love dogs is far better and safer than the retail transaction that lasts only as long as the cash register.
LOWER COSTS BUT GOOD PEOPLE
Many rescue dogs have already been microchipped, vaccinated and neutered before they arrive at your home. Their papers for travel in the EU have been completed and many other expenses have been paid. In shopping for a pet many of these expenses are transferred to the buyer. Our goal is to find loving homes where there are good people – that is critical and more important than money. When you go to a shop, they are there to make a sale – we are here to find a home for the dog. That is why we do so much for the dog before they even come to your family.
GIVES THE DOG LIFE AND A FRESH START
It is a truth difficult to digest, but dogs in public shelter are often kept there for 14-28 days and then killed. Every time a
rescuer saves a dog from a public shelter, finds a foster place for them and finds a good adopting family – the life of that dog has been saved and transformed. The dog that would have been put to death has instead found a loving family. Of all the things we accomplish in life, or even the things we buy, this is one of the most significant things we will ever do. Most adopters ultimately feel that way.
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
Rescue dogs can be puppies, but all the other dogs, large and small, different breeds, some young, some elderly – quiet, boisterous, enthusiastic, gentle and everything in between – it is not about finding the perfect dog but finding the dog that is perfect for you. The truth is rescue dogs have really interesting and unique personalities in our experience – and like our children – it is often their quirks that make them so loved. People that adopt a rescue have more choice, and also a fulfilling future to look forward too.
